Temple and Cosmos pt. 2

In one spot, Nibley mentions how the temple is a scale model of the universe.

What I am going to say next is based completely off of speculation that me and my best friend talked about in a conversation about the subject.

So if you look at the a top-down drawing of what we think the temple of Solomon would have looked like, you get this:

You'll notice an "outer" court, an inner court, a holy place, and the Holy of Holies.

If you look at what we know about the Milky Way Galaxy, and our position within our galaxy, it looks like this:

You'll notice that our Sun's location is about where the "inner court" is at. Then there is a part beyond that where the "outer court" would be. Then you move in a few thousand light years to the "holy place" then a few thousand light years more to the "Holy of Holies" or the place where God resides.

It is said that at the center of our galaxy there is a massive black hole. We know that the gravity of a black hole can have such a huge affect on light that it pulls it in. Imagine that. Light is actually controlled by large amounts of gravity. We know that God is a being of Spirit(Lectures on Faith, Lecture Five) and that Spirit is Light (D&C 84:45). So you could, in theory, have a being composed purely of light if they resided in a place of such gravity that it held their light(body) together.

Interesting!
